TV Celebrity to attempt World’s Record Motorcycle Jump Big Mike, a registered Dwarf/Midget and an Official Monster Garage All Star featured on Jesse James' popular “Monster Garage” TV program will attempt a World Record Motorcycle Jump ramp to ramp over Toyota vehicles on Saturday night May 17, 2008 at the Lightning ‘C’ Arena in McAlester, Oklahoma. Big Mike has performed a World Record Back Flip and World Record Long Distance Jump while riding as a Midget Passenger with Internationally famous motorcycle stunt star Travis Pastrana. Both successful attempts were filmed for episodes of MTV’s popular TV program “Jack Ass” 24 Hour Take Over episode.
Big Mike’s coach is World Long Distance Record setter, motorcycle daredevil Trigger Gumm from Santa Clara, California. Lil' Mike, will be attempting this jump aboard a specially prepared motorcycle built by Bobby Fannon from Oklahoma City. Trigger Gumm will be on hand Saturday to guide Big Mike in his first ever ramp-to-ramp motorcycle stunt attempt.
Big Mike said in an interview Tuesday, "As a welder, metal fabricator and custom car builder, I will be building my own custom ramps for this jump. Bobby Fannon has completed the mods on the Honda and I feel comfortable with the bike going into the jump. Oh Hell Yeah, I'm ready"
Big Mike’s attempt at Lighting 'C' Arena will be the first ever jump for the popular stunt man, who has performed on TV ads, programs and set previous stunt records as a Dwarf/Midget, or little person as he refers to himself.
The Stunt Jump attempt will be held at half time during the AMP Power-Fest Indoor MOTO-TT and Short Track Motorcycle and Four-Wheeler ATV races on Saturday night May 17th at the Lightning 'C' Arena in McAlester, Oklahoma. Races and Motorcycle Jump run Rain or Shine as they are indoors. The Power-Fest is held during the 38th Annual Italian Festival in McAlester. An International flavorful event featuring food from the four famous Krebbs, Oklahoma Italian masters of pasta restaurants.
The Italian Festival runs Saturday and Sunday 10am till 5pm at the McAlester Expo Fairgrounds. The Lightning ‘C’ Arena is located 8 miles east of highway I-69 on Oklahoma Highway 270 which is 12 miles east of the Fairgrounds.
Times for the Power-Fest are MOTO-TT Races Friday 7pm till 10:30pm and Short Track Races and Motorcycle Jump Attempt Saturday 7pm till 10:30pm. First green flags at 7pm both nights.
Tickets available at the gate, Adults $15, Kids 5-14 yrs-old $5, Under 5 free. All Access Pit Pass are $20 all ages. Five Dollar off Adult Grandstand admission discount coupons available at McAlester area O’Reilly, Autozone and Advance Auto Stores. 1,200 Complimentary VIP Tickets have been distributed for Friday night's performance.
